“Age Spots (Right Upper Arm Surface Map with Elbow)”
Ochre mineral pigment, beeswax, Ebony pencil, cyanotype on BFK Rives printmaking paper
22 x 30 inches
(Right Upper Arm Surface Map with Elbow)
This work pursues acceptance of the imperfections and impermanence of the human body. I created a large-scale low relief map of the age spots (solar lentigines) and scars on my upper arm to use as a frottage plate and the foundation of this painting's texture.
This painting is part of the “Surface Maps” series.
