Letters to Selves treats the field of letter writing as a site of activity - a surface that registers presence, touch, and duration without producing a letter artifact. The cyanotype's slow exposure to light becomes its own form of correspondence, recording the time a hand spent moving through space the way a letter records the duration of its writing.

I am interested in what persists when the message itself falls away: the gesture of writing, the residue of writing, the time span of writing. We tend to keep the letter and forget the act, but the act is where the body actually lived. Sometimes a moment surfaces with that particular clarity - this moment is now, now, now - and writing becomes a way of respecting that, even after the words have gone.
