“Worlds Ahead”
Acrylic, graphite, pastel powder, wax crayon on cradled panel
36 x 36 x 1.75 inches
SOLD
I prepare for a painting by sketching compositions. During the painting process, as forms emerge, I learn from the painting how best to portray the concept. Often, I may see images in the forms beyond my original concept.
In this painting, I found the color of the top right portion to look like the surface of the earth behind a storm cloud. Sometimes those images are covered in my painting process, I purposefully kept some of thereference to the earth in this dynamic cloud.
This painting is part of Susan’s solo exhibition “Potential Energy”.
