Timeworn passage

The river shows the passage of time. The edges of memories are worn the way sediment and silt smooths river rocks.

At the river, water flows constantly over rocks. An expanse of weathered rocks stretches wide. Verdant forests edge up to riverbanks. Blue sky and a lush tree canopy are reflected in the flowing water. The memory is timeworn but still so poignant. This landscape portrays the memory of a golden afternoon at the river. The river represents the passage of time. The edges of memories are worn the way sediment and silt smooths river rocks.

This painting exhibited in the Great Northern Art Explosion in Grayling, Michigan, juried by Jef Bourgeau.
