Every seed has the potential to become a plant. I combined this collection of seeds to represent the many possibilities of life. Like a child’s pocketful of treasures, this painting is a collection of potential future growth.
I incorporated blind contour drawing, drawing edges of shapes without looking at where my pencil or marker touches drawn surface. Using this method, I captured the nuance and texture of the outlines of various seeds.
This painting is part of Susan’s solo exhibition “Potential Energy”.
