“Buoyant”
Acrylic, graphite, pastel powder, wax crayon on panel
12 x 12 x 0.75 inches, framed at 14 x 14 x 2 inches
Sold
Air bubbles expelled from breath underwater are not round circles, rather they are imperfect blobs.
I created the water in this environment by layering gold wax crayon scribbles, glazes, pastel powder and paint glazes. I only used a brush to paint on the drippy air bubbles. I applied the rest of the media with tools, my hands, and gravity to incorporate organic randomness.
This painting is part of Susan’s solo exhibition “Potential Energy”.
